Springs of Fokiko Kifisos

The site of the springs of the Phocian Kifisos is the second most important archaeological site in Phocis, after Delphi. Historically preserved monuments have been designated: “The ruins of the Byzantine church on the springs of the Boeotian Kifisos, and the ruins of the Byzantine church of Mavromandilousa, near the village of Polydroson Parnassidos.”
It is a location of natural beauty, drowned in plane trees, with gushing waters and with a wonderful view of Polydrosos. Here are also the ruins of the Byzantine church of Paleopanagia or Mavromandila which was built in the 6th-7th century. A.D.
