Update of D.E.Y.A. Municipality of Delphi for the complaints to the Port Authority of Itea
D.E.Y.A. of the Municipality of Delphi, following the transmission of a complaint by the Port Authority of Itea, but also the public reports of the President of the Port Fund of Fokida, Mr. Sophia Anagnostaku, regarding “dispersion of polluted water into the sea through an underground municipal sewer pipe”, and following an autopsy of a level of the D.E. .Y.A., informs that:
At the point referred to (in front of the “BOJI” store) there is a conduit through which rainwater from the settlement is channeled into the sea. The outflow of EEL Itea’s treated liquids takes place through a partner pipeline, while based on the most recent analyzes (which are available to everyone) the results of these are absolutely in accordance with the permitted limits that have been set. It is also pointed out that during September 20th, no malfunction occurred in the Wastewater Treatment Plant, nor in any of the lifting wells.
The problem that is observed from time to time at this point is probably due to connections on the rainwater network, into which another type of water (probably also sewage) is illegally channeled. The DEYA of the Municipality of Delphi is investigating this specific case, although the identification of such connections becomes particularly difficult.
In continuation of the above, the Municipality of Delphi calls on those who publicly position themselves on such sensitive issues, to be particularly careful, relying on evidence and not making assumptions or serving other kinds of motives.
