Son plan d&#8217;\u00e9tage a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tudi\u00e9 et enregistr\u00e9 par de nombreux arch\u00e9ologues \u00e9trangers du si\u00e8cle dernier, les derniers \u00e9tant Michaud et Blecon. Il occupe une superficie (avec l&#8217;Acropole) d&#8217;environ 150 acres. Toute la zone \u00e0 l&#8217;int\u00e9rieur et \u00e0 l&#8217;ext\u00e9rieur des murs, pendant les premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es post-r\u00e9volutionnaires, a \u00e9t\u00e9 occup\u00e9e par les habitants ruraux, d\u00e9barrass\u00e9e des b\u00e2timents anciens restants et transform\u00e9e en champs irrigu\u00e9s.
